Emma Raducanu achieved one of her seasonal objectives as the WTA Tour season concluded. The British tennis prodigy concluded her season prematurely in October due to health issues.

Raducanu’s season was filled with ups and downs. She secured notable wins at Wimbledon and the US Open, regaining her position as Britain’s No. 1. However, she faced fitness challenges towards the end, evident at the Ningbo Open where she required medical assistance and lost her first-round match in three sets.

After grappling with various obstacles, Raducanu made the decision to end her season early while confirming that she would continue working with coach Francisco Roig in 2026. This choice jeopardized her goal of being seeded for the Australian Open.

The 22-year-old withdrew from her final two tournaments of the year ranked 29th, casting doubt on her aim to be in the top 32. By stepping away, she missed the opportunity to earn additional ranking points and had to wait to see if she would reach this milestone.

Following the season’s conclusion, Raducanu secured the 29th spot in the world rankings. Barring a challenging start to the 2026 events, she should be seeded in Melbourne.

In early October, Raducanu set her sights on being seeded at the Australian Open, emphasizing the importance of a higher ranking for better chances in tournament draws. She also stressed the significance of setting a positive example as a role model for aspiring young players.

Currently, Raducanu stands as the sole British player within the top 32 of the WTA rankings. Aryna Sabalenka claimed the top spot this year, followed by Iga Swiatek, while Coco Gauff and Amanda Anisimova rounded off the top positions.

Sky has reduced the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports package in anticipation of the 2025/26 season, offering substantial savings and over 1,400 live matches across various leagues. The upcoming season will feature at least 215 live Premier League games, a significant increase from the previous season.
