In a few days, I will present my second Budget as the Chancellor. My focus will be on supporting working families by addressing NHS waiting lists, reducing national debt, and lowering the cost of living. These are not only the nation’s priorities but also my top concerns as Chancellor.

One key objective is to reduce NHS waiting lists, fulfilling our commitment to revitalize the NHS, reverse years of austerity, and ensure patients receive timely treatment. Another crucial aspect is cutting national debt to allocate resources to essential sectors like education, healthcare, law enforcement, and communities instead of debt interest payments.

Addressing the high cost of living is paramount, as it continues to burden households, especially ordinary families. Recognizing that many feel economically stagnant, I aim to take decisive steps in the upcoming Budget to alleviate this pressure. Our government has already implemented measures such as freezing prescription charges, rail fares, providing breakfast clubs in schools, and combating ticket touting to ease daily expenses.

We are committed to further assisting individuals with everyday costs in the upcoming Budget, made possible by the economic stability we have restored. By ensuring efficient spending and cracking down on waste and fraud, we aim to direct resources where they are most needed, be it asylum support, eliminating police and crime commissioners, or tackling welfare fraud.

This Budget is designed to benefit you and your family, with a focus on fostering a fairer, stronger, and more secure Britain.
