Amelia Dimoldenberg, the host of the popular YouTube talk show “Chicken Shop Date,” has decided to bring her show to a close after more than a decade of entertaining viewers with interviews and interactions with various celebrities over some fried chicken.
In an Instagram post, Dimoldenberg expressed her gratitude to her audience for joining her on this journey and finding joy in the show’s episodes. She shared her bittersweet feelings about moving on from “Chicken Shop Date” to embark on a new adventure, although she acknowledged that the show will always hold a special place in her heart.
Having started the show 12 years ago by interviewing musicians in Britain’s underground rap scene, Dimoldenberg expanded her reach to chat with a diverse range of celebrities, including Keke Palmer, Conan O’Brien, Paul McCartney, and Jack Harlow. Her YouTube channel has amassed nearly 3.5 million subscribers.
“Chicken Shop Date” features a unique format where Dimoldenberg engages in casual and humorous conversations with her guests at a fried chicken shop in London, creating an atmosphere more reminiscent of a first date rather than a traditional talk show interview. The show has led to memorable moments, such as Andrew Garfield playfully flirting with Dimoldenberg during their interaction.
Among her many interviews, Dimoldenberg has also welcomed Canadian stars like Ryan Reynolds and Shania Twain, with amusing exchanges and revelations unfolding during their dates. Her success on YouTube has opened doors for her, including opportunities like covering the Oscars red carpet and interviewing notable figures like Hudson Williams.
While Dimoldenberg’s future plans post-“Chicken Shop Date” remain undisclosed, she has teased the possibility of a few final dates before bidding farewell to the show. Additionally, she is set to work on developing a young adult drama series for the BBC, showcasing her versatility and creativity beyond her popular YouTube series.
