Hyperoptic, a leading broadband provider, has announced a significant mid-contract price increase for its customers. Starting from April 2026, subscribers will see their monthly bills go up by £4, up from the previous rise of £3.
This price hike will impact both new and existing customers across all Hyperoptic broadband plans. Despite previously advocating against annual price adjustments, Hyperoptic now joins several major telecom companies in implementing larger increases.
In a shift from their previous stance, in 2023, Hyperoptic’s policy director, James Fredrikson, stated that they do not typically enforce mid-contract price rises. They believed that the advertised price should remain consistent throughout the contract period.
In other news, Sky Mobile has informed the majority of its customers about a £1.50 monthly bill increase from February 14, 2026. O2 has also disclosed a £2.50 monthly rise for most mobile and SIM-only contract customers starting in April 2026, surpassing the initial £1.80 increment.
Additionally, Three mobile subscribers opting for data plans of 4GB or less will experience a £1.80 monthly increase from April 2026, an 80p surge compared to the current £1 rise. For customers with plans ranging from 4GB to 100GB, the monthly cost will climb by £1.90, while those exceeding 100GB will face a £2.30 upsurge.
Furthermore, Three broadband users will witness a £3.50 monthly increment from April 2026. Vodafone mobile customers signing up from November 12 can expect a £2.50 rise in their monthly bills, with Basics SIM plan users facing a £1.50 hike. Vodafone broadband subscribers will also experience a £3.50 monthly increase.
For individuals out of contract, it is advisable to compare prices online to potentially reduce expenses on mobile and broadband services. By assessing current usage patterns and considering alternative providers or negotiating with the current one, cost savings may be achievable. Eligibility for social tariffs should also be explored, especially for those receiving benefits.
