Jake Paul’s promotion company has issued a statement in response to allegations against his upcoming opponent, Gervonta Davis. The accusations include battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping by an ex-girlfriend of Davis.

Despite the controversy, the exhibition fight between Paul and Davis is still set to take place in Miami on November 14. The bout, which will not be recorded on their professional records, will have a winner determined by stoppage or decision by judges, including an AI official if necessary.

Speculations arose about replacing Davis with Ryan Garcia following the accusations. However, Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s company, stated that no decision has been finalized yet, as they are investigating the claims against Davis thoroughly before making any determinations.

Davis has not responded to the allegations directly, but his trainer, Calvin Ford, dismissed them as baseless. The legal action accuses Davis of multiple instances of physical assault against his former partner, Courtney Rossel, seeking damages and a trial by jury.

Oscar De La Hoya, Garcia’s promoter, clarified that a fight between Paul and Garcia is unlikely due to contractual obligations with different networks. Paul is now contemplating a potential return to the ring in December, with previous rumors linking him to heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, although securing a deal on short notice seems improbable.
