Guenther Steiner, the former Haas team principal, suggests that Lewis Hamilton’s tenure at Ferrari might be shortened given his underwhelming debut season. Steiner favors young talent Oliver Bearman as a potential successor to Hamilton, anticipating a switch before the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Speculation surrounding Hamilton’s future has intensified due to his lackluster performance at Ferrari. Steiner implies that if Hamilton’s struggles persist into the next season, the renowned seven-time world champion could see an early exit from the Italian outfit.

Bearman, who filled in for Carlos Sainz at last year’s Saudi Arabia Grand Prix and later joined Ferrari’s Driving Academy in 2022, has caught Steiner’s eye with his impressive displays at Haas this season.

Steiner, in an episode of ‘Gas or Brake’ on The Red Flags podcast, enthusiastically endorses Bearman as a worthy replacement for Hamilton if the need arises, praising Bearman’s skill and progress throughout the season.

Despite Hamilton’s ongoing contract with Ferrari, Steiner and Sky Sports F1’s Ted Kravitz believe that Bearman’s upward trajectory will inevitably lead him to replace Hamilton at Ferrari, emphasizing Bearman’s growing potential and solid performances in recent races.

Hamilton, on the other hand, has hinted at a long-term commitment to Ferrari, noting the duration of his current contract and indicating no immediate plans for an exit.

Sky’s Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle now includes additional streaming services and comprehensive coverage of Formula 1 along with a wide array of sports and entertainment content, making it a comprehensive package for sports enthusiasts.
