Tiger Woods has changed his plea to no contest for a charge of reckless driving in Florida. The renowned golfer had initially pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving under the influence. Woods was taken into custody following an incident where his SUV collided with a truck and overturned on a residential road in Jupiter Island. According to a sheriff’s report, deputies discovered two pain pills in his possession and observed signs of impairment. Although Woods tested negative on a Breathalyzer, he declined to undergo a urine test.

Woods, aged 50, made an appearance at a courthouse in Martin County, situated just north of Palm Beach County. He attended the hearing with his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, who is the former daughter-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump. Fortunately, neither Woods nor the occupant of the other vehicle sustained any injuries in the collision. However, his Land Rover caused approximately $5,000 US worth of damage to the truck, as per a police report. Woods informed a deputy that he was distracted by his phone and adjusting the radio station when the accident occurred.

Despite being a prominent figure in golf, Woods has faced setbacks due to numerous surgeries on his back and knees, as well as struggles with pain medication dependency. Throughout his career, Woods has been involved in a total of four accidents. Following the crash in 2009, he took a hiatus from the golf tour and has once again stepped away from tournament play after the recent incident, with no confirmed return date.
