A chilling final message from WWE star Chris Benoit has resurfaced almost twenty years after one of the darkest tragedies in wrestling history. In June 2007, Benoit, a prominent figure in WWE, committed the atrocious act of killing his wife Nancy and their seven-year-old son Daniel before taking his own life in Fayetteville, Georgia.

The shocking murders had a profound impact on the world and brought about permanent changes in the realm of professional wrestling. Leading up to the discovery of the murders, Benoit sent disturbing messages to his close friend and fellow wrestler Chavo Guerrero, with one particularly alarming message sent to another friend.

Police uncovered a haunting voicemail left by Benoit, indicating that his dogs were outside and the back door was left open, hinting at something amiss at his residence. Concern escalated when Benoit failed to show up at a scheduled WWE pay-per-view event, prompting worries for his and his family’s safety.

Following a welfare check on June 25, 2007, authorities found the lifeless bodies of Benoit, his wife Nancy, and their young son in the home. Investigations revealed that the killings occurred over three days, starting with Nancy being strangled, followed by the sedation and suffocation of Daniel, and concluding with Benoit hanging himself using gym equipment.

At 40 years old, Benoit was esteemed as one of the most skilled wrestlers of his era at the time of his demise. His autopsy disclosed severe brain damage consistent with advanced chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative condition associated with repetitive head injuries, likened to advanced Alzheimer’s by medical professionals.

Despite WWE’s initial tribute episode post his death, the company swiftly distanced itself from Benoit once the truth emerged. His name is rarely mentioned in WWE content, omitted from the Hall of Fame, with his legacy forever overshadowed by his monstrous actions.
