The Original Factory Shop has recently appointed administrators, with Interpath Advisory taking on the role. This move has put 137 stores and 1,180 jobs in jeopardy. While the physical stores are still operating normally, the online operations have been suspended during this period.

According to administrators, The Original Factory Shop has been struggling due to high cost inflation, increased labor expenses, and reduced consumer spending. Complications with its third-party warehouse and logistics provider have further exacerbated its challenges. Established in 1969, the company was acquired by Modella Capital last year.

Rick Harrison, the managing director at Interpath and joint administrator, expressed regret over the situation, highlighting the company’s historical significance in local communities. He acknowledged the trading difficulties that led to the administration but emphasized efforts to sustain operations and explore future options with the existing workforce.
