Catherine Ommanney, a former romantic interest of Prince Harry, has responded to accusations of leaving a hotel in Majorica without paying the bill, attributing the incident to a “technical error.”

Ommanney, aged 53, was taken into custody on suspicion of fraud following claims by the Playas del Rey Hotel that she failed to settle a bill totaling nearly £450 after a nine-day stay, where she accumulated charges amounting to €500 (£434) by using a credit card that allegedly had insufficient funds.

Despite the allegations, Ommanney vehemently denied the accusations of non-payment, labeling them as baseless. She asserted that the bill had been fully paid, citing evidence of a completed transaction. She plans to seek redress through legal channels, aiming for an apology within the justice system.

Speaking to the Majorca Daily Bulletin, Ommanney described the situation as a “nightmare,” clarifying that the payment was made through a bank transfer due to the hotel’s policy of not accepting credit cards. She expressed discontent with the ordeal of being detained, attributing the issue to a clerical mistake.

Following her arrest, Ommanney attended a closed-door hearing in Palma after being photographed with a Civil Guard officer while leaving her court cell. She was released on bail pending further investigation, with details on her court testimony and explanation of events yet to be confirmed.

The Playas del Rey Hotel declined to comment on the matter when approached, while Ommanney refrained from making any immediate statements post-release. Her background as an interior designer and former cast member of Real Housewives of DC was highlighted, along with her past claim of a brief relationship with Prince Harry in 2006.

Ommanney’s account of her interaction with Prince Harry suggested a more mature and meaningful connection, emphasizing their age difference as insignificant. Despite her recollection of providing guidance and companionship to the young prince, Harry has not publicly addressed or acknowledged their alleged involvement.
