Apple marks a significant achievement today as it reaches its 50th anniversary. Established on April 1, 1976, by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, Apple originated in Los Altos, California, using Jobs’ parents’ house and garage to introduce the first product, the Apple 1.

The creation of the personal PC, the Apple 1, led to unforeseen success for the company, propelling Apple to become one of the largest corporations globally. Initially focused on computers, Apple has since diversified its product line to include groundbreaking devices like the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

The Verge’s recent survey asked readers to identify Apple’s greatest achievements, resulting in some unexpected outcomes. Notably, the original iPhone, launched in 2007, secured the top spot, becoming Apple’s flagship product known for its multifunctionality, entertainment capabilities, digital payment options, and high-quality built-in cameras.

Ranked second is the revolutionary iPod, which revolutionized music listening with its promise of “1,000 songs in your pocket,” replacing the bulky tape and CD players of the past. Apple discontinued the iPod range in May 2022.

Contrary to expectations, Apple’s M1 PC chip claimed third place among The Verge’s readers. This innovation transformed the performance and efficiency of Apple’s PCs, offering users a superior computing experience.
