Apple has had a packed week with multiple product launches. Among the new releases are the iPhone 17e, updated iPad Air, and fresh MacBook Pro models featuring the latest M5 processors. The company has now unveiled the MacBook Neo, a laptop with a more budget-friendly price tag.
The MacBook Neo boasts a vibrant design, strong performance, and a high-resolution 13-inch screen, all priced at £599. This marks a significant price difference of £500 compared to the latest MacBook Air, also introduced this week.
Powered by Apple’s A18 Pro-series smartphone processor, the Neo may not match the speed of M-powered PCs but is capable of meeting everyday digital demands. It runs on macOS and offers access to popular applications like Microsoft Word, Pages, and iMovie.
With over 15 hours of battery life, the MacBook Neo is highly efficient. It includes two USB-C ports but lacks MagSafe charging. Additional features comprise a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, Touch ID fingerprint scanner, dual side-firing speakers supporting Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, a Magic Keyboard, Multi-Touch trackpad, and color options like Silver, Indigo, Blush, and Citrus.
Pre-orders for the MacBook Neo are now open, with availability in stores starting next week. Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, expressed excitement about the Neo’s affordability and unique features, emphasizing its design, display, performance, battery life, camera quality, and overall user experience with macOS.
