The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has responded to clarifications regarding the audience composition at the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters following remarks made by Nathan Aspinall suggesting otherwise.

The tournament kicked off recently with notable players such as Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen, and Luke Humphries participating alongside Aspinall. After his victory over Lourence Ilagan, Aspinall shared his perspective on the event’s ambiance, hinting at some reservations about the crowd’s engagement.

In response to Aspinall’s comments, the PDC asserted that all attendees were enthusiastic spectators, emphasizing that the Saudi Arabia event marked a unique experience for many witnessing live darts for the first time in the region. They acknowledged the distinct atmosphere compared to established darts events in the UK and Europe.

Meanwhile, world champion Luke Littler also commented on the comparatively subdued atmosphere, noting the unfamiliar quietness but expressing satisfaction with his performance. Littler highlighted the need for more noise in the venue, underscoring the distinctiveness of the Saudi Arabian setting compared to his previous experiences in livelier environments.

The PDC’s debut in Saudi Arabia garnered significant interest, with attendees comprising ticket holders and guests. The organization expressed delight at the robust turnout for the event, indicating a positive reception to darts in the region.

For darts enthusiasts, the tournament’s unique setting and evolving dynamics have sparked discussions on social media platforms, inviting followers to share their insights and opinions on the Saudi Arabia Masters.
