Justin Rose expressed his ambition to achieve a career Grand Slam following his victory at the Farmers Insurance Open, where he surpassed Tiger Woods’ scoring record. The 45-year-old golfer, ranked No.3 in the world, dismissed talks of assuming the role of European captain in 2027 if Luke Donald declines, emphasizing that he still sees a bright future ahead.

Rose’s exceptional performance, marked by an opening round of 62, led to a wire-to-wire victory at Torrey Pines with a total score of 23-under 265. His achievement surpassed the likes of Tiger Woods and George Burns. In a nod to Woods, Rose acknowledged his record-breaking win, emphasizing his focused mindset during the final holes of the tournament.

The former world No.1, who climbed back to No.3 after a remarkable year, highlighted his improved game and mental strength, attributing his success to his consistent performance on challenging courses like Torrey Pines. With 13 tour titles under his belt, including major venues like Pebble Beach and Muirfield Village, Rose remains driven to pursue further accomplishments in his career.

Expressing his focus on major championships, Rose emphasized his desire to secure multiple victories in prestigious events such as the Open and the Masters. Despite acknowledging the significant challenge ahead, he remains optimistic about his chances, drawing inspiration from recent successes and near misses.

In contrast, Brooks Koepka had a modest finish at the PGA Tour event, while Rose, who declined an offer from LIV Golf, emphasized his commitment to playing against the best globally. He emphasized that his career goals align with competing on both the European Tour and the PGA TOUR, driven by the desire to challenge himself against top competitors and achieve his ambitions.
